As a Durango photographer I absolutely love doing event photography because I enjoy trying to get those unscripted photos of people generally enjoying themselves and naturally reacting to the environment around them, rather than reacting to me telling them how to pose and what to do. Events are fantastic because I get to photograph what I see from behind the scenes rather than being the director (most of the time). Obviously there are still times at most events where group photos need to be orchestrated by yours truly and that is not a problem at all.
